Just curious, what was it about the G37 that gave you doubt? In my case, gas mileage was a big consideration, which is really the main reason I ended up with a 250 instead of 350 and Infiniti doesnt really have a 250 competitor (I think they are coming out with G25 next year), but if I had been interested in the bigger engine, I would have also been considering a G37. I think it would have been a tough choice for me, that's why I ask.
I obviously had a 2008 IS350 for 2 1/2 years, so I know that car inside and out. When I test drove the G37, around the 4,000 RPMs, there was a bit of a "hitch" or "delay" in the car shifting down; this occured both in auto and manual (steptronic). That's the reason I drove it 5 times. I couldn't get myself to get used to it.

Secondly, I went onto myG37.com and there is a thread about 30 pages long entitled "little things that i don't like about my G". Everything from rattling, to sidearms being too small, to this, to that. I've had my IS since dec 2007, and there hasn't been ONE thing wrong - its been incredible. Lexus service is second to none, and I loved every minute in that car.

If it an't broke, don't fix it. I'm a lexus guy for life!

Awesome!

I was thinking very seriously about the G37 as well. I test drove it and came very close to closing a deal. On my way back from the Infiniti dealer I stopped by the Lex dealer just to "look" at the IS350 and was blown away. I really felt like I was comparing a porterhouse (G37) to chateau briand (IS 350). The quality difference is unreal.
Concur; you can tell the finishes are much better, and the ride itself doesn't even compare.

Here's that thread if anyone is interested - 236 replies, 16 pages long.

Enough said!
