Lexus IS350 VS. Cobalt SS
#16
So Chevy designed a relatively cheap, fast car that is easily modded to go faster. And people here are so insecure that they have to pat each other on the back because they drive a Lexus that costs more.
Nice.

EDIT:Australia uses KM/h, 100 km/h = 62 mph.

Hey, don't get mad at me, you started it with the insecurity talks. Have fun in your slower G37s chief.

The 0-60mph times Lexus states are usually slower than the actual times recorded in most tests. 8.3 seconds is for the AWD IS250 also. The Lexus quoted time is 7.9 seconds for the IS250 RWD automatic.

I drive a 250 and I'm not insecure that the Cobalt is faster. It's still a GM POS.

My comment wasn't about the speed of either car. It was meant to show what a bunch of jerk-offs people can sound like when they sit around slamming a cheaper car and patting themselves on the back.
YMMV.

The 2.5-liter pulls the IS to 60 mph in 7.1 seconds, two seconds slower than the 3.5-liter. Still, that's 0.1 second quicker than the fastest IS300 we'd ever tested. The IS250 jogs through the quarter-mile in 15.4 seconds at 90 mph (tying that old IS), compared with the 3.5-liter's 13.7-second sprint at 104.

Correct, but the user who posted the 8.3 sec time was trying to refer to IS250's in particular so I corrected the time figures.
AWD is obviously slower than RWD because of the 4-wheel power distribution.
Manual RWD IS250's and Automatic RWD have roughly the same numbers on the 0-60 and 1/4 mile, witch in no way is close to 8 sec. Only on official ratings are times altered to a higher number as to not mislead the driver in case they're unable to attain that time.

I already ran a supercharged one stage 2 with a bunch of boltons...we did one run off the hole and the IS pulled a lot on him did a 40roll which is his race and I pulled like 2 cars...I tought about gettin a cobalt for my first sheap go fast car but ended up with an srt4 and was much much faster and easier to make power...Now the newer cobalts with the turbocharger are a different story from wat I have heard...
