One of my best friends has a 2008 Cayman S, and we have raced a couple of times...he is way faster around corners, but we are neck and neck on the straights...it is a driver's race due to the almost identical performance numbers and the manual transmission in the Porsche causes him to be a little slower sometimes...drives him crazy that he can't get away from me on 400
This thread is really old but I just went for a drive in my friends brand new, 2014 Cayman base model and man did it feel slow. Maybe he didnt have sport + on but he was using PDK, and we also just did a roll on on a freeway on ramp. Maybe he didnt floor it, I don't know but in all, the experience was very mediocre and bland.
60k$ a car should be significantly more fun that that.
Driven both the Cayman S and a Cayman...no comparison here if you're looking for more than just quarter mile but Porsches aren't designed for the quarter mile. Acceleration is similar but there's a lot more to a car than just that. Handling is no comparison.
In a straight line, yes; but I'd like to see the IS350 out-handle even the most base model 2013 Boxster on a circuit.
Well, I'm not sure how accurate this list is but according to www.fastestlaps.com, the IS350 has a faster lap time around the Willow Springs track than the Cayman S
