is the is350 the fastest from a roll?
there was an earlier thread about the is350 being the fastest non turbo 6 cylinder 4 door sedan on the road. not sure if that was from 0-60. but from a rolling start 60-100 etc... how good is the is350 compared to other cars in its class non turbo/4/ door 6 cylinder sedans?

IS350 is the fastest (that I know of) 6 cylinder NA sedan from 0-60 and I think 1/4 mile as well...still can't think of something faster...
Good luck finding numbers from 60-100mph from a reputable source...let us know, I could always use more bragging rights!

First off, your supposition that the IS350 traps around 100 flat isn't quite accurate, it's closer to ~103-105 MPH (Source = Road and Track, Car and Driver, dragtimes)
The fact that the IS350 allegedly covers 351.3 meters in 12.7 seconds at 100 miles per hour is consistent with the previous data.
1/4 mile = 402.336 meters
For the sake of simplicity, we can assume that any the acceleration from 100 MPH to ~103-105 MPH is negligible for the purposes of the following calculation -
Assuming the car is traveling at 100 MPH (160.9 km/hr), how long will it take to cover (1/4 mile minus 351.3 meters = 51.036 meters)?
(51.036m)*(1km/1000m)*(1hr/160.9km)*(3600 seconds/1hr) = ~1 second
12.7 seconds + ~1 second = ~13.7 seconds in the quarter mile.
The data in that box are consistent with the IS350 hitting the quarter mile in 13.7 seconds, which in turn is consistent with the sources I described above.

I used 100 MPH in my calculation, but it would probably be more accurate to use 101 or 102 MPH as an "average" speed from 351.3 meters to the full 402.3 meters (1/4 mile).

Can't argue with the math, it's all correct. Just seems pretty weak that it takes as long as it does to cover the last piece of the quarter mile.
I know mine wasn't slow, but I don't think it was quite at 103 to 105. Unfortunately, I never got to run a full 1/4 mile with timing in my 350 when I had my helmet. With me and a 220 lb passenger it ran 14.0x at 99.x mph. Just enough under the limit to not need helmets.

Also consider that a lot of European car tests measure 0-100 kph acceleration, which is approx 0-62 mph. To go that extra 2 mph usually takes 0.1-0.2 secs based on the stats I've seen.
