Yes, Lexus should be sending you a letter out soon asking for you to come in and getting it replaced. Just bought my IS 350 and the sales person told me to come in on Saturday and plus a full tank of gas

Old news. I'm letting the dealer get real experienced with the fix before mine goes in.

^^^ Exactly....

My latest conversation with the service adviser is that they (Lexus of Fife) have not even done their first yet. Still waiting on some mass shipment of parts n such...

I had my car towed to Lexus of Seattle yesterday =X. Sounds like this is the problem with my car, I started the car and it made a crazy noise and then went away. I turned the car off and turned it back on and it was normal again, so i just brushed it off. I drove about a mile and then my car started sounding like a diesel engine and then it slowly died. I got it towed to Lexus of Seattle and the service advisor said that he has never seen this problem at all, Im just waiting on the diagnostics now.

funny how when news came out, a lot of (ignorant) people on the boards were acting like this recall isnt a big deal and you have a .02 chance of it happening to you, but yet surely but surely, these problems are popping up.

Yes, a whole 2 or 3 people out of the thousands of users on here have reported them! Everybody panic!

I can't be bothered to panic given the limited number of incidents reported and the fact that Lexus will pay for the fix.

::UPDATE::

SO it turns out that it wasn't a valve spring that broke. The service advisor is telling me that a cam shaft actuator 'failed' on me, which caused the cam shafts to seize up and bend some valves. ****ty part is that I am no longer covered under factory warranty considering my car has 100k on it. The fix so far is estimated at $4400+tax and that is without tearing the motor apart to see if there is any further damage. Cause of the damage is not determined yet but it seems like it is just poor design, and/or faulty work of whoever the engine manufacturer is. There is no way I could have cause the cam shaft actuator to 'fail', even driving the car hard shouldn't cause it to fail. The service advisor insisted me on contacting their corporate office for compensation because it is a flaw/defect that could have caused the engine to fail. I contacted Toyota/Lexus USA and made a dispute with them to hopefully get them to cover the expenses or atleast meet me half way on fixing the vehicle, considering that i am a long time customer i would expect them to compensate for some of the expenses. No vehicle should fail within the first 100K, let alone a Toyota/Lexus failing. So im crossing my fingers...I hope you guys have better luck with your 2IS than i do!
