Yeah, I noticed that too in the pictures, but in real life it looks spot on.

Blacking out the housings won't make a difference. I suggest you go with Garax and HIDExtra as others are saying.

Question

not trying to divert away from the original thread, but i'm getting xenon depot xtreme 5000K hid's installed this weekend and currently have luminics yellow halogen fogs on smokey granite mica...anyone have comments or suggestions on which halogen fogs would go best with my car color and hid's?? thanks.

they don't have to match necessarily..
i was thinking maybe like piaa extreme white, luminics ultra white or titanium white....

I suggest you just keep it yellow. If you're trying to match your low beam HIDs in color, you'll need to upgrade your fogs to HIDs to get anywhere close.

thanks for the input brociouz. and i'm not necessarily trying to match my fogs with my low beam hid's, just something that looks good or compliments them.

^ I think you either have to go for a really close match (hard to achieve - you need HIDs, and ideally projectors to replace the reflectors in the fog housing), or go for a stark contrast with yellow fogs. IMO, it looks stupid when you try to match them, but it's off by a few hundred K. Looks like a mistake.

Here's my setup. I'm running 6000K lows (Garax) and 6000K fogs (DDM Tuning). I also have custom retrofitted projector fogs, so the match is pretty good.

Before this setup, I tried using Silverstar Ultras in my fog lights (comparable to PIAA Xtreme Whites), and it didn't look good IMO for the reason stated earlier.
