My thoughts exactly. The difference between the second video (25 mph roll, only latter end of 1st gear available) and the first video (full 1st gear available) is pretty staggering. The IS350 in the video clearly had traction control off using the pedal dance. I'm impressed with the amount of traction he got from a dig in the first video. Wonder what his tires are.

The official BMW of North America statement (mentioned in the 2003 brochure) for the acceleration time from 0-60 mph is 4.8s.

But remember, this car is a 6-speed manual...so it is a driver's race and the M5's race to loose...

Also know that since these M5's are now pretty old now their engines might not be in top tune anymore so it's probably not as fast.

The E39 M5 is known to have carbon build-ups. Many owners have started experiencing this problem as early as 50k.






I like the hard carbon build-up on my cast iron pan, but not in my engine
