I find it funny when people get all excited about replicas, wouldn't you want to keep that kind of thing quiet? Reminds me the guy who said something to the effect of "FIRST VERTEX REPLICA," like he was so proud of himself.

 

What is wrong with replicas if it fits? How can I get it? If it fits, replica or authentic, I will by the cheaper one. You will never get your mod money back when you sell the car.

your paying people that rip off legit/real kit makers ideas and capitalize off their product by offering it cheaper. yeah it's nice to buy it cheaper, but your not giving credit where credits due. The company's that make them lose money to people who make these replicas.

for the most part this applies to vertex's products, but the same principle goes for other manufacturers.

 

For the record, i believe those 2IS pictured above are rocking 100% legitimate Wald kits. I used to look at that guys blog and he would post up every photo of the wald kit including the authenticity mold in the back of the kits and the boxes it came in.

 

wald kits in taiwan are probably cheaper than north america due to their closeness to japan. i can believe they all have real wald kits.

I secound that, wald, ing+1 are you going up to each car and check if there the real S*** no. When some one fly by you with a replica you wont even tell the diff. Also when you see it in person and they tell you it a replica you would say " dam that ****** look good they did a great job "

though the difference may be minor or even nonexistent in terms of visual, i think its more of the taking an established company's R&D into creating a product, and having another company swoop in and replicate the products, sell it for less, and reap the rewards of being known as the replica of an established brand (such as WALD). though many will hardly be able to tell the difference, it takes away from the R&D and efforts into producing a fitted product. from what ive heard also, replicas dont tend to fit as well as the authentic, and theres no surprise there. though the authentic will typically cost more....a lot more- personally, id rather save the money and support a brand that has taken the time to create a great product that fits properly rather than spending less and potentially having a problem later on with fitment or even a company's existence in the future.
