"Most" people who get a 250, are not really enthusiasts. When I bought my 2010 earlier this year, I though that I was gonna be priced out of a 350 and the dealer tried to lean me towards a 250. But to be honest, if I couldn't have achieved the 350... there would NOT be a lexus in my garage right now. Pure and simple. You take that powerful engine out, and take away the exclusivity of the lack of 350's on the road, you don't really have anything to show.
If I ever wanted a Mustang (for example, I never would) If I couldn't get at least a GT or a Cobra, how could I ever be satisfied with their V6 offering? (I realize the new ones have 300+ HP) I would just duck down in the seat and not let anyone see me driving! Lol! "Hi, I'm the guy who couldn't afford the "real" mustang!" "But I'm gonna drive around like I'm part of the club!"

I was going for the 250 - it was the color I wanted and everything. But what stopped me was that the interior...something felt weird about it. It had a funny smell to it. And there were quite a few scratch marks and gouges in the leather and interior. I pulled down the little flappy thingy in the rear seats, and it was loaded with dog hair. Looked again at the 'gouges' and realized they were chew marks.
Found the car I ended up with and it was like new.

lyle, the IS-F club could say the same thing about the IS350 and look down on the regular 2ISers. if you have to look down on someone else because of their car, you might be a little insecure.

+1. it's all about cornering for me. straight line is boring and mind numbing. i'm into autocrossing. the king of autocrossing is the miata which has a massive 133 hp or the king of drifting which is the 112hp AE86
lyle, the IS-F club could say the same thing about the IS350 and look down on the regular 2ISers. if you have to look down on someone else because of their car, you might be a little insecure.

I have to say, the only thing I wish the IS had in it was that the 'Mute' button for the radio be on the steering wheel. I use the Mute button a lot more than I anticipated I would, and my friends MB has it on the steering wheel and I love it.

the stupid buttons on the is300 is much more responsive then the paddle shifters. if not for this, it makes the is350 more more fun to drive then the is300. IMO
everything else like:

comes standard with all is's
