i originally had to have rsx but insurance was expensive since it was a coupe and was discontinued when i was looking to buy a car and didn't want to buy a used car so started looking at sedans and wanted something sporty that looked nice so looked into the is, c class, and 3 series my uncle had a mb and said he ran into hella problems with it and the is250 was alot cheaper than the bmw with all the options i wanted

Lexus Champion
I test drove an Acura TL and a 3 series BMW before I settled on the 2IS. I thought the TL was a good bang for the buck, but I didn't like how the ride felt (it felt a little soft and mushy). I then test drove a 325 and liked the ride, but it felt underpowered. At the time, the new 3 series just came out, so the 330's were somewhat hard to come by. I ended up going to a different BMW dealer to try and test drive a 330. The salesperson told me they had one on the lot, but that I couldn't drive. I made a beeline for the Lexus dealer across the street and went home with a 350 that same night.

All of the above, plus over the years I have driven 3.0L V6 engines and the 2.0L 4 cylinders too.
The 2.5L V6 provides best of both worlds. Light like a 4 cylinder, and smooth like a V6. A winning combination. For me it is the dream combination. As an engineer I always wondered what is keeping the auto world from making a nice small v6. No longer.

One thing I liked about the Max that I didn't want to give up was the smoothness of higher interstate speeds. There are some areas on my daily route where 80mph is the status quo. I'm happy to say this car handles those areas quietly and still with plenty of passing oomph. Most 4cyl cars I've driven would be winding too high. Its the smoothness and balance of this engine that makes it great.
So this car ended up having just the right amount of HP for my driving style, no more and no less, and gets great mileage at the same time. As extra security against any more speeding tickets I also helped myself to a Escort Passport 9500ix which I can also heartily recommend

Welllllll i owned a 3 series before and a g35 before.....
my choices were New g37. 335i, C300, A4, and IS
Sooo Infiniti was out fo the question.... got tired of seeing everyone in it, nice car, loved when i owned it, fast and was just fun driving, was speeding all the time i drove... but my Brother ended up with one, and 3 of my cousins owned infinits... g35, g35 coupe and a g37 coupe.......
335i coupe was my choice i really wanted it, but the interior sucked.. unless it had a navi, n that was hard to find since i was looking for a used car... and also, nearly every 335 i seen on carfax i had so many problems, didnt cross 1 that had a clean carfax.
c300 was nice, but there was just something about the car that it didnt appeal to me much
is the looks of the car, the interior, the name, the price, everything about this car had me drooling, i seen them in person at night and the license plate light and the paint, foglights n all had me going crazy for this car... so went to the dealership test drove it, n fell in love.

I had turned 35 and I wanted to get a grown up car (getting too old to drive honda/ricers.) I really wanted to get a coupe, but having a family of 5 scratched that idea.
Back in late 2007, Choices came down to Infiniti G35 sedan which didn't appeal to me as they looked a bit plain like the old IS300's. Acura TSX (before the current model came out) looked so much like my JDM converted Integra sedan and the TL's were nice, especially the TL type S, but I wanted rear wheel drive with 300 horsepower. I was afraid of the 335's reliabilty history and expensive entry fee killed that idea. I almost pulled the trigger on a 6spd manual 250 but the heavy weight of the car + 5 passengers and 204 horsepower killed that idea.
The IS350 satisfies everything I wanted in a car with one exception.
Pro's
Lots of power
Decent Gas Mileage
Excellent interior and exterior
Very good handling (after installing the rear Fsport bar and Tein springs)
Con's
It needs a friggin 6spd manual for the driving experience or at least make it a fast responding tranny like the steptronics or SMG's that are on the BMW's
I'm going on 3 years and that is my only gripe.
