Integrated iPod options?
So I will be taking delivery of my 08 is 350 in couple weeks and I would like to install an iPod option to the ML Nav system...But, right now I am driving a 2010 ES350 loaner which has usb and I absolutely hate the way it works with my ipod! Its super slow to begin with, and when browsing albums, songs, artist it automatically selects the top selection when scrolling up or down unless I time my button pushes perfectly. These are the things I want to avoid with whatever I end up with.
So what options have you guys gone with? And what are the advantages/disadvantages?
Im looking at SoundLinQ2 SL2Vi-P4, but man $419 is spendy just to watch videos from the ipod (but cool at the same time!).

I have a 2010.. I heard the same complaint about the Nav+iPod-USB but I'm wondering if the same slowness issue exists with the regular (non ML) stereo and without Nav.
If it is a PITA then maybe I'll just get an iPod Touch, navigate on the iPod itself and use Bluetooth audio for no cables to compensate for not being able to use the steering wheel controls to nav. Actually grabbing the iPod itself to navigate songs doesnt bother me as much if it isnt anchored down with a cable. 10 or 15 years ago I would have jumped at the chance it if someone told me I could store thousands of songs and control it all wirelessly from a little unit the size of an iPod.. lol.. how far we've come yet we still complain

Are either of these options faster than the stock option? For I some reason I get the feeling that they are all going to be kinda the same. In that case I'd prob get the grom cause its cheap.

with grom you can only see the track number on your monitor.
with vaistech you can see all the details of a song.
if you have car with a screen go vaistech if not go grom.
about sound quality both are the same.
also dice is good quality.
grom has an advantage compare to the others.
you can order it with a Y cable so you can attach a second device in line.
for example a navtool av in adaptor.

it really works great.
you need to upgrade it to the latest version to work correctly.
