debating on the RX and IS, please help?
Hi guys,
I am a lady and I can not make up my mind on two models that I like. I need some opinions. I have two children, so 4dr car is a must. I am located in Los Angeles, so the price reports reflect prices in my area.
First choice.
2010 Lexus RX 350 AWD 4dr
with PREMIUM PACKAGE: $2,400
BI-XENON HIGH INTENSITY DISCHARGE (HID) HEADLAMPS: $875
12-SPEAKER PREMIUM AUDIO SYSTEM: $110
NAVIGATION SYSTEM: $2465
The best certified price I was able to find is $43,089 through a TrueCar
http://www.truecar.com/Lexus/RX_450h...ignId=xJS_lxRX
I truly love this car, the appearance is very slick.
I already discussed it here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...x-350-awd.html
Second choice.
2010 Lexus IS 350 4dr Sedan
SPORT PACKAGE VALUE EDITION $3,140
LUXURY PLUS VALUE EDITION $1,980
NAVIGATION SYSTEM$2,465
for $39,524
http://www.truecar.com/Lexus/IS_350/...ignId=xJS_lxIS
At first I was very sure about RX, after I test drove IS not so sure anymore. I don't even have good criteria how to choose. I just really like them both.
What do you guys think? Any opinions and/or suggestions about other models? I pick cars by look, this time I want to be more thoughtful.
If you guys know more about IS price, also please leave a comment on what is right price.
Thank you for your help,
P.S. I could not identify proper area to post this tread, so if some one has suggestions on where I should move it, please tell me.

Personal Opinion, but i am currently looking to upgrade from the IS to an RX.
Though i love the performance and styling of the IS, i have so much trouble with the rear seat room, and trunk space (not to mention they dont fold down) that the hassle is no longer worth the sex appeal.
just my 2 cents

How young/small are the children? Because the back seat and trunk in the IS350 isn't large.
Living in CA and not going to the high mountains often makes AWD a feature that you really don't need on the RX.
Both are excellent vehicles even if they are very different, I've driven both. For a one car household, I know the decision is more difficult. For multicar households, usually they have one SUV (I always have one).

I would suggest the RX. more luggage room as well as more spacious interior. even if your babies are small now, they'll be growing up rather soon, so the RX seems more fitting for present and future use. I've suggested the RX to many moms, and they all love it. whether its picking up the kids and going on weekend trips to a night out with the girls- its a great ride. best of luck!

My advice is: YOU are the one who has to live with your choice, not us!
With 2 kids--what are your space needs? That, I would think, would be a serious factor in the decision. I ahve 2 kids with my IS, but that's NOT our family vehicle.

I almost went from my IS350 to a 2010 RX Hybrid earlier this year. It totally depends on your own needs, and from what you've posted it sounds like the RX is a better match.
Now I think I understand where the hesitation comes from, because it's exactly what got me to reconsider the change once the idea of not being able to drive the IS anymore set in. The current RX is a great vehicle based on what I've seen/tested myself. I don't think you can go wrong either way.

Theres a real nice GS 350 on the vendor classifieds right now, 07 for like 22.5 super great deal. if i could sell the is250 today, id probably fly to cali to pick that one up. gs is larger, has the rear leg room and trunk space, and keeps the is styling elements...
not to make your decision any tougher...but that would be no fun.
