Keep in mind that most factory type alarms (don't know the lex system) will allow you to disable the shock and tilt sensor as well.
We have a inland-waters ferry system here and you cant believe how many idiots get on it, lock their car and walk away. As soon as the boat leaved the dock there is always one car honking and beeping and flashing its lights while the make PA anouncments for the owner to return to their vehicle.

Reviving an old thread here.

I finally got around to doing the install, and yes, this is very possible. I installed a tilt, and glass break sensor and they work great. I'm going to go back in and install an on/off switch, just in case, so I will try and snap a few photos to put together a tutorial.

Sorry for being off topic, but is there a aftermarket alarm that integrates with the OEM one? Basically, I just want the cool little screen that tells you your door status.

You test/set the sensitivity by shaking a set of keys. It is looking for both the high sound frequency, and repetitive sound in a short time period.

I set mine so it would not trip if I take the keys out of my pocket and move them around, but would trip if I shake the ****** out of them.

You would have to get a full aftermarket alarm to do this, and you would still have to carry around your lexus key fob for the ignition.

I thought about doing the aftermarket alarm, and then buying this

This way you would have the aftermarket fob, and just keep the lexus key card in your wallet for starting the vehicle.

My only issue with this is it's an expensive way to go. For a good alarm your looking at $500 or more installed, then another $250 for the key card and programming. For the route I went around $70 for everything, although I did the install myself.

Would the tilt sensor go off if someone is putting your car up on bricks to steal the rims?

Yes. The tilt sensor goes off before the tire is lifted off the ground on all four corners. You can also set the inclination it goes of to 1 degree, but the default is 5 degrees and that seems to work just fine.

P.s. I hope to have this diy posted up by tomorrow night.

Aww that sucks. mines the same but all works with oem. IDK why the place isnt doing installs anymore. maybe they got introuble becuase they were not supposed to do it.
