Is there any plans for some sort of trade in for those of us with the older model?
I doubt it because Vais is not in the business of selling refurbished units, and since this is an appliance not a computer, you can't expect it to be upgradeable.
However the good news is that these units have good resale value so I'm sure you could sell it on ebay for at least half what you paid. That's what I'm going to do.
I read all 8 pages and may have missed the answer to my question. I have NAV w/o ML in my 06' IS250 and just want to be sure the SL2iC is compatible. If so I am in for the GB when it happens.
SL2iC is compatible with IS w/o Mark Levinson system.
I also want to point out the sound is awesome, much much better than the reg AUX input. Got around to playing some video today and it worked great. Only thing I dont like, which they told me was Apples fault is that sometime when you turn the car on, the album art is oversized and some of it is cut off.

Post up a Vid so we can see it in action! I am most interested in seeing how album art is displayed.
I havent really messed with mine yet but it does unlock a lot of things. You can enter address while in motion and make calls. If anyone wants me to try something else. lemme know and ill try it..
Kybbal, how do the iPod music videos look when output via SL2iC to the Navigation display screen? I know they can't possibly look as good as when the same video is played on native iPhone 4 screen (which has awesome HD-like clarity and color accuracy); but are the videos played on Nav screen "pretty enough" to be worth watching? In this day and age when every
monitor I view (tv, computer, phone)is high definition, I worry over whether I should wait for ML+--which promises both upgraded video and sound? I saw your post saying sound was way better than playing IPhone music through Aux cable---can you provide a quick assessment (as best you can) of video quality? Thanks.
