for those who have blacked out their housings...
hey all. i had my headlight housings blacked out around june and now im starting to get this cloudy line inside the plastic lens across the top. it doesnt look like water but theres definitely some kind of dirt or something thats making just the top part of the headlight look fogged up. ill post pics up later. but has anyone had the same problem? and what can i do to clean it off?

but its not actual water condensation, so i dont know if heat gun will better or worsen the situation. ive left the car out in the sun to see if the cloudiness goes away but it still is there. and it has been getting increasingly more and more.

It could be that the paint has not cured completely. With all of the warm weather we've had lately, perhaps it's getting a haze from the paint evaporating and hardening even more. Its enclosed so it has no where to go.
Think of when you tint your windows, about a week or so after, the windows get a haze to them that has to be cleaned.
I bet it's the same deal.
How long did you let it dry before re installing it? Did you use heat to dry it or was it just allowed to dry naturally?

i let the paint dry for a couple hours before reinstalling them. i also hot glue gunned two silicone packets per housing before putting the lens back on. the paint was dried naturally. heres the pics ive been lagging on:
the whole headlight. the area towards the top of the headlight is the area im talking about.

um ok so idk whats wrong with flickr or CL or me but for some reason the photos wont show...
so heres a link to the flickr page. the photo you see when you click on the link and the few around it are the ones that show the condensation/discoloration/whatever it is

I would have let it dry more. Two hours it may feel dry to the touch but I wouldn't think it's cured by then. I'm no paint expert so I may be wrong.
When things of that nature dry, the agents within it are escaping and need somewhere to go. When you sealed it, it had nowhere to go.
Some products used on dash boards do the same thing. If you ever look at a car that had Armour All applied on it, in about a week you will see a haze on the inside windshield.

ah i see. so do u think that "haze" will wipe off if i re-open it? deng this sucks cause i made sure the guy put extra gasket to prevent condensation. n now here i am with something else inside the lens do u think it'll come out if i blow air into it with a hairdryer or something?
