Default is250 --> is350

I went to my dealership (JM Lexus) yesterday and inquired about trading in my car to a is350 i have a 2007 is 250 with 50,000 and would be trading in for 2007 is350 with 21,000 the list price on car is 31,000 and i havent gotten a quote yet on mine another part of this trade is i would have to swap all the after market parts from the 250 onto the 350 when i told them the list they were fine with it untill i got to the coilovers and wheels. I got my coilovers installed on the 250 from lexus but now there telling me that it would void the warranty on the 350 also there telling me that the wheels i have on my 250 wont fit on the 350 and vice versa the salesman is new to lexus and i dont think he knows what hes talking about when it comes to that kinda stuff. Couple other questions. I have CF L emblems in the front and back but on my 250 i took off the lexus and is250 emblem on the new car ill be able to swap the L emblems but idk what to do with the lexus and is350 emblems i was thinking about spraying them red because i dont want to spend alot of money to get those holes filled. Also the trim around the windows is chrome on the 350 and i had it sprayed black on my 250. Can you guys give me your opinion on that price and also your opinion on the swaps and trim.

Not worth it for swapping all the mods for an extra 100 ponies you'll never really fully use unless you track or run on a dragstrip. A real upgrade/wiser decision I think is to save up for an F or a diff car.

Edit:
I mean you've had the car now for 3 years with it. Appearance it will pretty much be the same, minus the 3 instead of the 2. None of your friends will really notice the difference until they sit inside and you really punch it. Are you planning on keeping the car for a long time, or just get into it and then move on to a nicer/faster car?
Sticking the 250 out and saving the $$$$ towards a totally different car like an F or 3IS may be better idea from my viewpoint.

Do what you feel will make you happy. You can always mod later.

your modifications are the least of your concerns.

it's very high and likely that the dealership is going to leave you upside-down on your trade in: you'll not only get less for your trade in, but you'll be paying more for the new (not to mention more expensive) car. yes, the increase of 100 hp is completely worth it in terms of performance, but it may cost more than you might think.

i'd wait and see how much they're willing to give you for your is250, and if they're willing to help you change over the parts with little to no additional cost to you. if they don't deliver on both ends, be prepared to foot the bill for the is350 or be prepared to walk away.

think with your wallet/bank account.

This post says it all. Dealerships LOVE this type of transaction. There is much money to be made and nine times out of ten it's a losing financial propostion. Trading in a car instead of selling it privately is the worst way to go. But the bottom question remains, what price are you willing to put on the extra 100 horses? Your decision will be based on that.

as of right now im not sure trading your car for 350 is a wise idea. Theres like 2-3 production year on 2is?? and 3is will come out?. It would be better to invest your money into something like that. But.. if you have the money, go for it

Nice... but I would try to sell it privately to get the most cash. Then put that cash down for a IS350.

Dealers will low ball you on the trade-in. Like what Fizzboy7 said, this is where they make money. They appraise your car for $2000 less than market value and then sell it a little higher than the market value to the next guy. They claim that the need to knock off the value on your car in order to prep and inspect.

My friend traded in her car for $2000 when she can easily have sold it for at least 4-5K. I sold mine privately and got $7000 ... the dealer wanted 5 grand for trade-in.
