Underside panels.
Okay I've got some panels under my car that cover quite a bit. From trying to crawl under there, I can see the exhaust and the engine pretty good but there are panels that cover the sides between the front and rear wheels. There is also a vented type of panel in the center. They also cover most of the chassis brace.
How I discovered them was when I went to the dealership on unrelated business. I had looked under my car to look at the sway bar with my dealer and he noticed the panels. At that moment he called them 'skid plates' and I had from then on referred it as that. He was pretty surprised that they were there and really didn't understand why I had them. The service dept was closed at the time and so he couldn't ask anyone else.
I know they really aren't SKID plates because it's not an off road car. I had asked another member here about them and he sent me a diagram of panels that he told me were designed to help with noise and smooth out the air flow underneath.
The diagram and his explanation made sense but from what I can see the position of the panels don't match the position of the diagram he sent me.
I noticed that no other car on the dealer lot had them except for a 2010 IS-F.
Does anyone else have these under their car?
Can anyone explain this to me please?

Maybe pics would help? Sorry about them being upside down, I rotated them on Photobucket but don't know why they are still like this. Just turn your head.
1. Center, slightly back from front wheels.
2. Between front and rear wheels, under doors.
3. Between rear wheels. This may not be a panel, because of the shape?
4. I think this is from back of the car toward front.
I wish they can be further back so you can see more but I tried to crawl under there and ended up just sticking my arm out and snapping randomly.

And thank you to Individual for doing a bit of research for me too!
Good tip. Maybe I can somehow get the hose under there.
