Bad battery?
Hello everyone,
The last couple of days starting my car, I notice that the needles don't sweep all the way, maybe 20% thru and the gauge illumination will sort of flicker before coming on fully. I suspect it's the car battery on the way out. I'm at about 66,000+ miles now.
Any input would be appreciated!

Mine only lasted 42k miles but then again AZ heat 115 degrees)
The guy at autozone used a laser thermometer and said my Battery was 150 degrees. The little shield around my battery was apparently responsible for the extra heat.

My car was doing the same thing. Sometimes they wouldn't even sweep at all when I start the car. I also noticed that the car wasn't turning over like it used to. I replaced the battery (as it was almost 5 years old already anyway) and I haven't had that problem since.

Mileage has little to do with battery life. How the battery is used, how it is cycled, and heat will determine its useful life. 4 years is pretty average for a battery in normal usage, especially in hot areas like TX, AZ and FL. Some will go longer.
