I noticed that my rain sensing wipers were not responding to rain as quickly as they used to. I started tapping the sensor behind the rear view mirror to get a response & noticed that the top half of the unit was not perfectly pressed against the window. After manually pushing it against the window the rain sensing wipers started working perfectly again, but once I let go I get that sluggish response.

Any idea how I can secure it back to the windsheild? The top half just seems about 1 or 2mm away from the window. I'm afraid of ripping the whole thing away from the window and not being able to secure it back..

I'd talk to the dealer, or at least a windshield replacement shop to get their correct answer.
My first though was to go buy one of the rear view mirror repair kits, that have the glass adhesive.

Keep in mind that the IR sensor needs to be in direct contact with the glass to work, but you probably don't want glue directly on the sensor either.

Interesting! Maybe I need to seperate mine from the window then. lol. Mine are too excited to do work. They kick on way too fast during light rain, in my opinion.
