hi new to the forum, just got my 08 is250, and i was thinking about puting a set of 19*8 40 offset wheels on to car, will the stock suspension work (will drive it in Canadian winter, not thinking of lowering), and what size tire should i get to stay in spec with the awd. Thanks in advance guys, really confused here.😊
You can use on all 4 wheels:
225/35/19
235/35/19
For a bit more comfort (taller sidewall) you can do 225/40/19
Hello, I'm new to the forum and hope someone can help me out. I'm looking to purchase a set of OEM 18 inch F-Sport wheels with tires off of a 2012 IS350 RWD. I apologize but I do not have the specs as seller isn't really listing them.
Ideally I would like a clean "stockish" look and think they would be a nice touch. Also looking for suspension ideas as my original struts need replacing. I was thinking of going stock with some kind of sport springs as I still want a comfortable ride.I will ask this in the suspension thread but if anyone here can assist that would be grand!
If you want to stay with shocks/springs combo, have it slightly lowered and still retain factory comfort then look for linear springs like "Swift" or "Tein H-Tech".

I'm not sure about your offset but I'm pretty sure that you can go above stock tire recommendations if it's properly considered. And yeah... The slightly higher sidewall gives a slightly cushier ride...

BC Racing and Tein covers have good reviews and quite a number of people on the forums have them installed with seemingly good performance.
Stockish will mean you'll not be running a staggered setup (if you're AWD) but the 18" wheels definitely are an option for stock. You can even choose to upsize a bit... I have 235/50R17 as opposed to the 225/45R17 my car came work and apart from the very slight occasional rubbing weekend I take a corner too aggressively... Ride has been good.
Cheers!
I should of added that I already have 18s off an GS on currently. Just wasn't sure if I could get away with staggered. Reason for changing them is that I hit a pot hole and bent the driver side and got a bubble. Shop recommends I also get 4 new tires to keep the tread even and need new TPS. Long story short I'm trying to stretch the budget to see if buying a used wheel package would be more beneficial than buying a new/used rim, 4 tires and new TPS.
Side note, I saw a nice set of ISF wheels locally here and wondered if I could get away with them being staggered and 19s?

Thanks again for the advice!
Fyi, the ISF wheels and TIRES fit perfectly fine on 250. As long as the overall diameter of tires stays the same you're fine using staggered wheels on AWD.
I recently bought a 2010 IS 250 AWD. I live on a narrow, steep dirt road in the woods, so I *REALLY* need more sidewall in the winter. I'm trying to setup with 16" wheels for the winter. Right now I am running the stock 17s.
Are 16 x 6.5 5 x 114.3 w/ 45 mm offset ok or do I really need to be looking for 16 x 7"? Or even wider? I suspect I'm going to end up w/ 215/50/16 tires (narrower for better traction, naturally). I know, I know, I'm going the exact opposite direction from most wheel fitment questions, but I really need to get this solved. I'd love to get a set of steelies, powder coat 'em red and call it a day, but I'm having trouble finding steels that will work for this vehicle.
I'm hoping someone here can talk to me about smaller wheel fitment concerns with this vehicle.

You could easily go with 215/55/16 (if they sell tires in that size) and still clear front fender liners. I run 225/50/17 on Toyota Matrix 17" steelies in the winter with no issues at all.
Just be careful as Matrix with 1.8L engine came with 5x100. The ones with 2.4L are 5x114.3 and they fit fine IS250
Older RAV4 would have another great choice of wheels in those sizes.
Hello

Simple question. Will this fit my 250.
My first post so bear with me and thank you
The bolt pattern and center bore is the same so the wheels will fit without issues. 225/55/R17 might rub in some places at full lock. I'm curious to see if this tire clears the front wheel well. The only way to find out is to mount two front wheels, drive around the block and see. I use 225/50/17 for the winter with no rubbing whatsoever.
Let us know if it works.
New setup: 19" x 8.5", ESR RF2 in hyper silver finish. 30mm offset. Also added 5mm spacers on the rears.
Tires: imove gen3 235/35/ZR19
Results: No rubbing whatsoever at stock height. Rims perfectly flush with fenders front and rear, imo. Overall increase in diameter 0.8% (up to 2% is usually considered acceptable, with no negative impact on drivetrain). Before
