Default refinished stockers + new tires!

So I picked up my car from the dealer today since I had my wheels refinished which by the way for those who have the common Lexus/Toyota problem, you can get them fixed for free!

I called into corporate, and nicely told them my concern and when I went into the dealer, they didn't even look at them and just said they'll refinish it. They look great! But sadly they checked my tire tread and reported I have less than 1/32" left! Eek! So I'll be heading out tomorrow to get new tires. Now here's my question, should get the Bridgestone RE960as tires or Continental DWS's? Figured maybe I can get some feedback here. Thanks!

What exactly did you have to tell Corporate? I would like mine to be refinished too.

Thanks.

What was the problem with the wheels that they needed to be refinished?

Well I called in and explained that I have some concerns with my vehicle which I was more concerned as far as safety. I explained that my wheels were all peeling and I was afraid that if it continued to peel, the wheels could corrode and might crack on me. I was very very very calm and very nice with the representative and even joked with her. She took care of me and wrote everything up and said to just bring my car to a dealer and I'd be all set. So...yeah that's what I did. I called the dealer and explained that I had called corporate prior about this and my rep took care of me. Of course I also wrote him a great review because he's taken care of me very very well and also told corporate the same. To be honest I just made sure everyone else was happy and I explained to them that I just want them to not peel. I told them they can replace them or refinish them which I let them decide. They had them refinished with all my curb rashes completely fixed. They did a great job honestly. The outer most edges have some minor imperfections where it was curbed REALLY bad but you won't notice it until you get about 10 inches away from it. Overall I'm 100% satisfied.

I have the stocker 17x8 wheels and the inner most edges of ALL my spokes were flaking off. It was almost like if you had a really bad sunburn and you're flaking off your dead skin. You could literally pluck pieces of it off with your fingers. Now it wasn't too bad at first but it was getting progressively worse. I actually was at my local body shop and saw a GX parked with all 4 wheels' finish COMPLETELY flaked off. It looked like the wheels were rusting. I didn't want that to happen to my wheel so I called in ASAP.

Thanks for the very helpful info... My wheels are not peeling off, but I have another Toyota car that is, so I will call Toyota corporate with the same concern, I hope it works...
