Hi,
my gf's lexus IS 250 have the check engine and vsc light went on. She currently has injen intake. I was wondering if she should remove the intake before going into the dealership. Will the intake void this part of the warranty. The intake was installed two years ago without no lights. thanks

I'm thinking might be the air flow sensor acting up from the intake. Perhaps, the seal is loose somewhere or filter is loose. May be a bad air sensor too.
Is your car sputtering and rpm drop low? Sometimes it may even stall and you have to gas it.
But do go back to stock before going to dealers. Most dealers will give you a hard time when they see a mod on there.

First thing to check is if the gas cap is loose.
That causes the CEL/VSC lights too, and is easily fixed without a trip to the dealer (and is probably the most common cause of this).
regarding the intake, the only relevance would be if the intake caused the problem (which is unlikely after 2 years, but it's easy enough to check for anything having come loose, or to swap back if you're paranoid and it's not the gas cap)
If it IS loose the quickest way to get the light off is to pull the ECU fuse after you replace the cap tightly.

It's safe to drive the car. The worst thing that can happen is a decrease in mpg. The same exact thing happen to me a couple of weeks ago. I had auto zone run a diagnostic test on the engine check light and was told it could either be a loose gas cap, dirty MAF sensor, or an oxygen sensor. I took it to the dealership and got one of the oxygen sensor's replaced because it had stopped working.

Happened to me and was the aforementioned loose gas cap. It did NOT reset after tightening it and driving for approx. 100 miles. I had to have my service advisor reset it at the dealership. Took all of two minutes without a charge.

Looks like your bank 1 o2 sensor is stuck in a lean reading. The first code is for that in particular the second code describes that it is reading too high of voltage.
It is the same problem I would guess. Replace your Bank 1 02 sensor. I would also guess its the driver side, but it really is the 02 sensor with the #1 firing cylinder on that side.

actually i had this problem for awhile at a time when there were no mods in my car. when i brought it to the dealer, they told me that it was caused by a faulty o2 sensor. they replaced it and it was good to go.

by the way where is the blank 1 02 sensor located. is it near the midpipe or is it located in the engine area. can the resonators deleted affect this 02 sensor, however the resonators were removed two years ago.
