Yesterday was a good day....until....
Fellow CL members. I experienced something for the first time yesterday. It blew my mind to see what I saw. I want to open your eyes to the things we might overlook or might forget. When changing tires out, getting ready for a show, make sure you WATCH THE PERSON TORQUE your wheels (Double check your guys work). I did not and here is the result.
We all have the tendency to look past things and not check what was done. I have learned a valuable lesson. It will never happen again. I just want everyone to be aware of the dangers out there. Luckily I was the first one on the road and nothing else happened because there was alot of traffic behind me. My wheel went 100 yards up the on-ramp while i went on the off-ramp.

Holy sat! Sorry to hear about the misfortune... If it was a shop that did your tire change, definitely bring it up to the manager. I can smell a lawsuit...
Definitely double-check your work...even for the simplest job like oil change. I once left the filter wrench on the fender of my previous car and slammed the hood shut. Left a nasty dent.
My bro nearly killed someone when changed his brake pads because he forgot to pump the brake pedal to force the pistons back. He ended up totally the laundry machine, weight bench and the neighbor's car.

Incredible! How long after you changed the tires out did this happen? I just got 4 new tires on my is250 and on the bottom of the invoice it has in big bold red letters - Warning: Lug nuts/bolts must be checked and retorqued immediately after the first 25 miles of use.
I honestly thought nothing of it so have yet to return (tires were put on Saturday and have driven about 100 miles since then). After seeing this pic I am heading over to the tire place after work to make sure all is ok.

thank you everyone for the concern. From what I pieced together, there is a new guy at the shop. I cannot confirm that he touched my car although the owner did say that he "Heard his tech torque the wheels." My threads were not stripped therefore I believe that the lugs were only hand tightened. I litterally went to the shop to pickup the car, went about two miles going 35-40mph and there goes my wheel bouncing past me slamming into the concrete guard and going up the on ramp 100 yards.
Owner said that he is going to pay for everything, overnight a new wheel and having an established body shop take care of the damage. My rear bumper was hanging, my rotor is flat on the bottom, my rotor shield is bent to hell, my liner looks like a lion got ahold of it, my fender lines are all fcked. I will update the thread when I get more information from him today.
