Default Eclipse AVN726E nav/cam ....

For those of you that don’t have the Lexus(OEM) NAV/ML /Backup cam Option but would like a large screen unit you might consider the Fujitsu Ten Eclipse AVN726E.

Its not as nice as the OEM but then again its about 1/5 the price. Here are some pic’s from after the install into our 2010 Matrix Awd XR. I am not sure about the availability of a trim kit for the IS.

Any install in a 2IS would be totally custom, there is no kit to do it... so better find someone good at fabricating dash pieces.

How much was this unit exactly and what did they charge you for install?

***cdn --> Canadian Dollars

Unit $1350cdn
cam $250cdn
kit $42cdn
install $200cdn
Tax 13% on everything incl labor
All of that should have totaled $2081cdn

Ended up paying $1728cdn

I was originally quoted ~$1700cdn(tax incl) for a Rosen unit (the Toyota dealer wanted ~$2400cdn +tax for that one) .... as it turned out the distributor couldn't get it as promised, so therefore the discount off the Eclipse.

Since Eclipse has been bought by Toyota it may be going away soon .... perhaps steeper discounts are on the way.

Thanks for the info... how much more would it be if you had ordered the car with the factory Nav unit? not 5X the price I assume...

The 5x comment was referring to the Lexus OEM nav (here in Canada a $10,000cdn option)!!!vs this unit ..... the Toyota Matrix nav didn't include a backup cam (according to the sales guy) so they suggested the rosen($2700cdn) or a rear view mirror type($1700cdn).

I decided to deal with an Auto Audio shop directly and bypass the dealer.

You can buy a used OEM nav for under 2k. The eclipse unit IS nice, but I prefer the OEM nav personally because it ties in with the bluetooth, steering wheel controls, parking assist (if equipped), OEM cd player and radio buttons on the bottom, etc...

In other cars I would definitely spring for a unit like this, but in the IS, I think OEM is really the best way to go.

The A/C controls do go thru the FlyAudio headunit. Also, we have special pricing for Club Lexus members, so PM me if you're interested or have more questions! Thanks!
