For the Z, if it's the revised engine, maybe since it's faster. The IS and Z are in pretty different classes though, so it entirely depends on what you're looking to achieve.

Do you mean 350Z or 370Z? 370Z is lighter, more responsive chassis and faster than the previous 350Z. If you want a good track car, they're both pretty awesome.

350Z..my 2IS is different spec. its IS300 so 350Z is definitely faster compare to 2IS here. How about comfort side of 350Z compare to 2IS?

370Z maybe? The interior is so much better done than the 350Z and is pretty much like an Infiniti inside, so sitting there from a 2IS isn't so bad.

The 350Z isn't faster than the IS 350 and the interior is pretty bad. It is smaller so its more nimble and there are tons of mods.

Also make sure its a pre updated 350Z model.

^Do you really have to ask? LOL, of course the 2IS luxury car is more comfortable. Stock to stock at least.

I had a 350z before my is250. Z was definitely a beast compared to my is250. Comfort would go to the is250 no question but the Z felt more solid than the is250.

Damn you have a lot of posts. Why pre-updated? The new engine variation having problems?

You're trying to compare a luxury sedan to a dedicated sports car. Apples and oranges comparison, in my opinion.

The only relevant question to ask is ISx50, BMW 3 series, Mercedes C class, or Infiniti G.

Obviously the interior of a 350z can't hold a candle to the interior of a luxury sedan.

I think the nice part about getting the highest powered luxury sedans available in this entry level class (i.e. IS350, G37, 335i, etc.) is the fact that you really come close to having it all, especially with minor modifications.

Take the IS350 for example, you slap on F-sport sway bars and the result is 0 to 60 in 5.0, skidpad = .90 g's. This is a marked improvement from a somewhat mediocre .84gs without F-sport sway bars (along with massive body roll)

the 2003-2006 350z (<300HP) have slower straight line acceleration, and virtually the same skidpad (.91g)

the 2007+ 350z's have identical acceleration to the IS350 (0 to 60 in 5.0, 1/4 mile ~mid 13s), and also pull .91g's.

You consider these numbers and then consider the fact that the IS350 is also (or rather, first and foremost) a luxury sedan that offers superior comfort/interior luxury fit, finish and it's clear why I would choose an IS350 over a 350z for day to day spirited driving.

The 370z is monstrous on both fronts - it pulls .94gs and gets 0 to 60 in 4.7-4.8

There's no question that the 370z is faster and handles better. It definitely lives up to the "sports car" moniker. Also, from what I hear, the interior is markedly improved relative to the older 350z.

For you though - you're not coming from an IS350, you're coming from an IS300. IS300 and IS250 people probably hunger and yearn for more power more than IS350 folks. I can understand why the prospect of a 350z (even an older one) would be far more enticing to the IS250 owner compared to the IS350 owner.

More HP and torque but higher in the RPM range. Updated engine loves to drink oil. Not problem free.

The car got a hood bulge to fit the new engine.

Drove the G35 Coupe w/manual thinking it would be the car for me.
Funny how I got out feeling very bored with the blaa interior and only semi interested in its power... the manual certainly didnt light my fire either, but I bet fixes exist for that.

Overall, I left the Z on the lot disapointed that i felt nothing for it, and drove the IS350 home two days later...

It counts on what you are planning to do.
- If you keep it stock, you are better off with an IS 350. The 350z has roughly the same horsepower but a few hundress less in curb weight. On the other hand, the IS 350 has a very nice interior that would be a bit hard to give up if you were moving to the 350z.
- If you are going to mod it, the 350z is a good dedicated sports car. This is night and day when comparing the sparse IS mods to the over abundance of the 350z aftermarket. You can do some serious work to the 350z and make it a hell of a lot faster than an IS 350. That being said, you are stuck with an "inferior" interior.
- The same applies to the 370z but it's faster than the IS 350 stock for stock, and the 370z has a pretty amazing aftermarket availability compared to the sparse IS 350 lineup.

Personally, I'm getting old so I need a very nice, smooth, and enjoyable daily driver. That being said, I've been taking my IS 350 to the 1/8 drag for the last few weeks, and this car ain't slow compared to what's out there either.

They are two totally different cars. It all depends on what you want. Luxury/Sports car or pure sports car? For speed, the 2IS 350 is still faster...

I had a z before my is350. 350 is faster and more comfortable. Better brake system too. I miss my s a times onl because of the wheels u are able to put. Lo offset and wide mothers. The only z that has an oil consumption problem is the 06. I like my lex but I might buy another z. Hope to have them both.

1SICKLEX was even posting durring his wedding

The question about a x50 vs 350z is apples n oranges... but for me? i would take a Z over a 250 and obviously i took a 350 over a Z.
