I can't imagine shoe investments being so easy, though. If it really were that easy, one would imagine more people jumping all over this sort of thing.
Hedge fund managers dream of netting anything > 12% return on investment per year. > 12% is a big deal.
If one could easily and reliably turn $50 shoes into $500 profit, then where do I sign up? Not saying this is beyond the realm of possibility; I'm just saying I'm very skeptical that this sort of ROI is the "norm."
Anybody want to give me a crash course on shoe investments? I'll be willing to buy a single pair < $200 if you can reasonably guarantee that it will be worth even $225 in a year or so.
Hell, I won't even wear them, this will be purely an experiment. I'll keep them in pristine condition - boxed, never worn.
If it turns out that the shoes are worth $50 in 5 years, then so be it.
