getting it from a loner is another option if u have another lexus, ive done it before when i cracked my gear shift indicator lens, dealer didnt sell it separately and wanted 300 for the entire center console :P...but as for sanding, taped off where the deepest scratch goes so when u sand it, it just looks like a smooth line around the lens...sand it when its wet, its useless when its dry

thanks vinconist!
when you say tape off where the deepest scratch is.. do you mean tape around the scratch so i only sand the scratch and not the areas around it?

dojoman thanks for the amazon link!
do you use those yourself? i guess it's a good investment if we don't want scratches

One trick I have is tape a small object to the plastic lens, wait a few seconds for it to adhere and just pull it.

I have the tool around for small mods like this. It's cheap doesn't hurt to have a set.

i used a suction cup today with a credit card and works like a charm!

first put the suction cup onto the lights
pull is towards the front of the car and down slightly
slip your credit card into the back of the lens and pry with the credit card while pulling down on the suction cup!

darn and i just bought the no-scratch plastic tools on ebay last nite..
guess i can always use them for something else
