That's true. but those LEDS reflects what's under the headlight way too much, doesn't give a nice OEM look.

Keep in mind in all this, our focus was to get an operating, functional 2011 IS LED headlamp to work on the previous models. We did not focus on the operation of the 2011 IS.
AFS light comes ON only, it does not flash. I can't say that I've ever experienced this light flashing (on/off/on/off/on/off...). Frankly, I turned my AFS off to see how much it would bug me and really, since there's other lights on the instrument panel, I didn't pay much attention to it.
To get the LED's to come on, it is with one click on the stalk. The LED for the previous models is not a replacement to the DRL. However on the 2011 model, it is the DRL at full brightness. When you turn the headlights on, the brightness dims (I'd guess 50% dimmer). For the conversion on the other hand, the LED is at one brightness only and comes on with one click of the stalk. This allows the driver to turn off the LED's when necessary - remember, they are bright!

Id still like a bit of clarification on the conversion headlight
So does the LED replace the parking lights/city lights as in are the wires are rerouted so that only the LED lights up? or do they turn on at the same time(citylights+LED)? The reason im asking is because currently the parking/city lights turn on w one click of the stalk, and ur suggesting we can turn on and off the LED w one click of the stalk as well, wasnt sure if that means we loose the citylights (not a big deal at all)
Additionally, on the conversion model, what is the relationship between the LED and DRL, because here in the UAE we do not have the DRL function, rather the bulb is just a highbeam functioning one indicating a difference in wiring of UAE lights vs US lights. So does DRL affect the LED in anyway? from what u said, it doesnt seem to.

This is getting frustrating. Darrel has not posted in two weeks (I hope he's okay). I've also emailed Sewell and received no response. Why have a customer email if nobody is going to respond? I'd love to order these 2011 lights but I need to make sure they'll work first.
Maybe I'll just call Sewell and leave a message to have someone call me back.

As for where we stand the only bit to be followed up on is our FAQ's on our site citing the commonly asked questions and answers. We've sold a number of sets already and the only feedback we've received is they work great. That's all - they work great. I presume this is great news to all of you.
Just to reiterate, should you want the LED strip to turn on by itself, just turn the headlamp stalk by 1-click. Again, just 1 turn (1 click) of the headlamp switch and you can turn on the LED portion of the lamps by themselves.
However, when you keep your headlamp switch in the AUTO position as I believe most of us do, the LED's will turn on simultaneously with the headlamps with the ambient light permits them to do so. In other words, the LED's come on when the headlamps come on.
AFS equipped IS: The small yellow AFS symbol in the lower left hand corner of your dash with remain lit when installing the LED headlamps. This is due to the lack of AFS motors inside the LED lamp. The only known method to turning of the AFS light is to remove the bulb.
Halogen equipped IS: IS models equipped with the standard, base model halogen lights (non-HID), you can easily upgrade your lamps to the HID and LED lamps with no collateral issues. The installation is simple. Only the funding would be considered difficult.
We will give money back for those of you who have no more use for your existing headlamps. Of course, they must be in working condition and free from damage. Here's the allowable credit.
Headlamp Core credits (2 lights, left and right)
2006-2008 IS w/HID lamps: $400
2006-2008 IS w/o HID’s: $300
2009-2010 IS w/HID lamps: $500
2009-2010 IS w/o HID’s: $400
For the LED headlamps we've already sold, we have yet to have anyone take advantage of this core credit. This is up to you and certainly not a requirement.

Darrel, there is an AFS computer somewhere right? What's there is you Don't have AFS? I imagine all IS's are wired with the same interior harness so if you were to remove the AFS computer, or even swap a NON AFS computer into the car, wouldn't that solve the AFS light problem?
And do Non AFS cars not have the AFS light in the cluster at all? Or its just blacked out because it's not used?
