I'm pretty sure you're referring to the projector lens. Our vehicles use Fresnel lenses as opposed to some others which use clear lenses. Although theoretically I can see the lenses being oxidized, it's way less likely than per say the housing lens which is constantly exposed to outside air.

it can also become cloudy by sunlight. theres really no way of stopping it other than sanding down the first layer and to expose the clear layers underneath. However everyone is right, your projector lens should not be cloudy yet, its too early for them to be cloudy. they look fine in the picture.

Yeah Fresnel lenses are "cloudy" meaning it just had ridges in it which allows better foreground light (theoretically) and it allows for the light to be visible from the outside at a further distance which is what they're originally designed for (which are actually used in lighthouses). They're also lighter in weight in comparison to clear lenses (fun fact). But they don't allow the light be as focused or as pretty as clear lenses.
