I am sure all of you have seen this by now...yet for those who come in late, it might be helpful...

Although it's down over 100 hp on the IS 350, the IS 250 is nearly 4 mph faster through the cones with a 70.4-mph result. This is blazing speed, and it puts the IS 250 ahead of the BMW 335i, not to mention about a half dozen very capable sports cars.

Uh, that IS350 number is wrong... that's from an 06 that didn't turn traction control off.

It's a few mph higher when done properly... (I've seen at least mid-68s off hand)

if you can afford it get a 350, and get good snow tires for the winter. no need for the awd. and no regret about not getting the extra 100hp

X package has the sport suspension, sport pedals, special 5-spoke wheels, front lip, and illuminated scuff plates... it the cheaper, and lesser-featured, version of the sport package.
(though those 5-spoke wheels are unique to it)

I just recently spent a week in a 2010 is250 loaner car while my '06 is350 was in the shop. I can without a doubt say that I am so glad I got the 350 over the 250, but I'm also a bit of a power junkie.

I was trying to decide between the two much like you last October. What helped my decision at the time was that the 350 I wound up with had the Nav and ML while the 250's I was looking at did not. When driving the loaner, I could tell a major difference between the two when merging on to the interstate and passing and what not. My 350 is just so much more responsive and lively. I wound up driving the 250 in the "power" setting the whole time and it still didn't feel as good to me.

Also, I live in Alabama, so snow is not really an issue for me as it is certainly a concern for you. When is snows here, most people run in to their tornado shelters or bunkers and wait for it all to melt.

With regards to your "soon to have" modifications in your signature, I'm going to go ahead and suggest that you want to get the F-sport sway bars (front and rear) before you get any of the other F-sport modifications. The F-sport sway bars are far and away the most important modification for the IS350.

It MIGHT have HIDs and/or XM too, impossible to tell from the pics... but it's definitely not X package. It has the base model door sills, the base model pedals, no X pack wheels, etc...
