Hello everyone,

I am currently looking at buying a 2006 Is350 with 100k Miles on it. I have a few questions I hope you can all answer for me. It will cost me $12,500, is that a good price? I it in good shape, just a few body things that need to be fixed not nothing major. Interior just needs a good detail and it seems to run good. It is loaded with all the options, NAV, air condition seats and so forth.

Here are my questions,

I live in Connecticut, how are they in the snow? I know are winters are not to bad but i need something that I will be able to drive.

Is 100k miles to high? How reliable is this kind of car? It makes a tick while running, is that normal?

How is everyones gas milage? I dont drive to much or far so its not that big of a deal.

Is there anything I should keep my eye out for?

Thank You for the help,
Matt

Black Book shows retail price of $17,450 and $13,850 trade-in for a rough 06 IS350 with 100K miles. Is this vehicle has a clean title?

Get snow tires if you want to drive a RWD in the winter.

I get 23-25 MPG for city/highway and as high as 31MPG for highway.
If you worry about the mechanics of this vehicle, go have a shop check it.

Price seems to be really good. Agree with gs400998, definitely have a Mechanic check the car inside out due to the high mileage.

12.5k?

Sure it's not a salvage title? That's insanely cheap for a clean title IS350.

Oh, and nav and vented seats (not air conditioned- the 2IS doesn't have air conditioned seats) is two pretty basic options out of a long list of available ones... you'd need a lot more on there to be anywhere close to "loaded"

Get a cheap set of wheels and put good snow tires on it (not all season) and it'll drive just great.

If it was an early 06 that means it has been on the road for a bit over 5 years now... so 100k isn't crazy high, especially if it's a lot of highway driving (which is the best thing for the car)

It's a lexus, so pretty reliable.

That's the sound of direct injection, perfectly normal.

Official numbers on an 06 are 21 city and 28 highway. You can do a little better or worse depending how you drive.

Yeah. At $12.5k that thing has been wrecked or flooded or something, almost 100% for sure.

I think 12,500 is about right given the miles. It's def a good price but It's still inline. I would imagine you could get as high as 15k for that car, but I wouldn't pay anymore then that.

Thanks for the replies.

It has a clean title. I know for sure, no frame of flood damage. Pass rear door needs a little body work and the front and rear bumpers could use paint but dont need it. It has everything that I can think of to consider it loaded, it has all three packages.

Which 3 packages is that?

The 5 things that'd make it genuinely fully loaded would be:

Memory seats (this means it's got the sport or lux packages which convey most of the "fancy" features)

Mark Levinson on the head unit below the nav unit

The special dark L logo on the front grille indicating it has PCS (this is the rarest "normal" option available on the 2IS and very very seldom seen)

Headlight washers on the headlights (a cheap, goofy, option, but relatively uncommon, and you'd need it for "fully loaded")

XM radio if you press the AM-SAT button... more common on later years, fairly uncommon for 06 since it requires an add-on antenna for that year

As mentioned, black book says 17,450 for clean retail price with that mileage... and $13,800 for rough-shape trade-in value... so private party in good shape would be like 15-16k... I suppose if it's got body damage (but not frame damage) then 12.5k might be explain-ably cheap with a clean title... long as the estimate for repairs isn't too bad (and I'd check that first, Lexus parts are notoriously overpriced) then it's a good deal.
