It could be they were always there and I just didn't notice but I've had the car 4 years and that seems unlikely

Yes, on all versions of the software. It is disabled when you turn your instrument panel lighting to maximum brightness. Just turn down your instrument panel brightness with the **** to the left of the steering wheel (it will click when at full brightness), and it should switch automatically at night. There is also an option to lock it in day mode on the menus, but my guess is your panel brightness.

is their any way you can override the navigation.
I have a 2006 Is 350,and i havent updated my disc since then,But looking for a time to change.
It is outdated now.
Will it be possible to override the new DISC AS WELL?

If you update your nav disc you lose your software override functionality. You could do a hybrid DVD (search it), but I don't think it works with the newer maps/firmware. You could always cut the wires and do the nav hack, or get the override module from Prestigious Society.

I'm not sure that anyone's tried the 10.1, but given that it's worked with versions 6,7,8, and 9, not sure that I have reason to believe it wouldn't work with 10
