Default Heat from ashtray area

Has anyone noticed some heat/warmth coming from the ashtray area when driving. I don't smoke so I never use my cig lighter so I am not talking about the heat from the lighter when the lighter is in use. After driving around for a while, the ashtray area is warm to the touch. Even when i take out the ashtray and fell underneath it is warm to the touch too. I think it is my transmission houusing that is kicking out the heat and making this area warm but I am not quite sure. Any input is well needed...

Never notice that, I grab change from the area all the time. I'll have to double check.

I also notice heat coming from that area. I took out the ashtray and have been using it as a coin holder. I don't think it's anything to worry about though.

I noticed it this past weekend. I was driving for about an hour and I had to go in my ash tray. I really think it is the heat from the transmission. I really hope so.

the duct work for the rear heater vent runs under there, so the heater will warm in. Otherwise your exhaust runs under there, and the heat finds its way up.

actually its none of the above, its the light bulb in the ashtray, its not an led, its a halogen, so it emits quite a bit of heat, dont know why lexus didnt use an led, it nothing to worry about it though, if it bothers u, u can aways switch it out with a blue led

Vinconist would you happen to have a guide on how to change the light out?

The ashtray is removed leaving an empty spot to hold your coins!

I believe it's the drivetrain underneath. I noticed if I put my hand on the transmission tunnel, it's warm to the touch.

it's the mini steam engine placed there that powers the clock.
