Default 18 Yrs of Driving and Now a Tint Ticket ????

Well it finally happened, I have been driving for 18 yrs and had 20% or darker tint on all of my cars. I have been pulled over multiple times in those yrs and never had a problem with my tint being dark, This morning on the way to take my son to daycare I guess i have a pissed off or bored pig and he gave me a tint ticket. Shouldnt they be out fighting crime?? I have a Derm. i go to and might try to get them to write me something up saying i need dark tint, not sure if that will fly. no way am i taking the tint off so i guess its gonna cost me $110,,, guess thats cheaper than getting them retinted....Needless to say, this SUCKS......

Cops man, they do what they want.

My question is, since the back seat windows are tinted, am I legally allowed (in California) to tint my front windows even a little bit?

I hate how the half tint looks on all cars

Cops in NY are also tracking down illegal tints. I have to remember to roll down my windows when I see them around.

Cities are hurting and they are looking to get revenues from all sources legal.

whether you think the ticket is dumb or not, still doesnt make your tint legal. be thankful that all those times you got away with it.

In California it is illegal for anything more the 30% on side windows and no tint on windshield (Consider an obstruction). Never the less, I have a friend that has done several cars with equal tint on side windows and windshield. As long as it looks like it was factory done, then probably will not have any problems.

I am driving with 30% v-cool on my IS for 2 1/2 years now, no problems.

No tint on windshield and front side windows in CA at all..., tint as dark as you want on back and rear windows.
It's just that you haven't got caught yet. Also I think you mean less than 30%.

^^^that's right. You cam only tint the rears, nothing else. However, most shops will tell you otherwise so they can put a sorry *** tint on your fronts that really don't look like anything

Thing that pisses me off is my tint dont even really look that dark unless its cloudy outside and well, this AM it was cloudy. 7:00 taking my son to daycare, come on man, cut me some slack I bet if it was a 93 Honda Accord with 20% tint he wouldnt have pulled them over..

highly doubt it. if it was that bad, they would probably make you wear those dark tinted glasses instead. like others said, its just the price you pay for a modded car. just pay it and wait for the next one to come in another 18yrs.
