Default better way to install HID lowbeams

so i know ppl usually drill holes into the dust caps to install after market HIDs on their low beams
however, my friend who works at a lexus repair shop tells me that if i take the bumper and the entire light housing off, there's a better place to drill a hole thats at the bottom of the housing
we suspect thats where OEM HIDs are installed?

i'm thinking if i drill the hole at the bottom, will the soft plastic part thats attached to the after market HID wires used to cover the hole fall downwards since its hanging now instead of being sideways if i were to drill a hole at the dust cap?

will there be any other disadvantges?
or will this indeed be a better way to install the HID lows as it would hide the wires better?

and i know that taking off the bumper is a hassle just to install the lows, but i'm taking the bumper off anyways to install my HID fogs so the hassle wouldn't be the issue
just if this method would be the same or possibly cause more issues than drill a hole through the dust cap?

i haven't heard of anyone drilling the hole through the bottom yet, but you could be the first to do it successfully. i assume the rubber grommet seal would hold fast vertically since there are several threads in it like a bottle cap. but im not an aftermarket hid install expert...

I did the install of my bikes HIDs like that. soo many people drill into the rear of the housing so you can see the HIDs sticking out when you look down the forks. with mine though, you cant see that i have them at all. the rubber grommet will do a good job of keeping dust and water out but its tough to make it perfect. on the underside it might be safer in the long run because moisture probably wont be able to get under the light assembly as easily as it could in the rear. thinking rain more than humidity. if you do it though, takes pics a long the way .
