HID Ballast Mounting Locations (low beam).
Through search, I'm reading a lot of posts regarding how the aftermarket ballasts of some HID kits causing the power steering ECU to malfunction. I understand some kits come with insulated ballasts and some do not. Just to be safe, I want to mount the ballast away from the ECUs and anywhere else unsafe. My questions are:
1.) Where are these "safe" areas? What spots are you using?
2.) How far should the ballasts be away from the ECU?
3.) Where exactly is the main ECU and power steering ECU? What do they look like?
Thanks in advance.

This is one of the examples how mounting the ballast too close to the ECU can mess with the power steering.

am not say that ecu and rack cant go bad because we have a tsb for steering ,but the only thing would have to be is Emp and if it did happen all ecu would be out no if ands or butts. now dont trust in all dealer I get alot of work from dealer come backs because cant fine the issue and say any partsthat are after maket is the issue and most of the time its not its the tech that suck on finding the real issue

I'm even more confused now. At first it seemed as if the malfunctioning power steering ECU was attributed to this and now it's just a guess? Seems like there's a lot more people with aftermarket HIDs without problems than there are with problems but I'd still like to play it safe and mount them in a safe spot. So where are these "safe" spots? Any other suggestions? Those videos of the shaking steering wheel is pretty scary.
