Default driving in "sport" mode

hey guys

i drive my IS250 (i live in australia, no 350's till the '11 comes out next month)
in Sport/Manual/Gear Limiter mode all the time

after driving some manuals i CAN NOT live without changing gear my self
makes me wish i got a manual 250,

but its "safe" to do this right??

who also drives in Sport mode? oh and i also have PWR ECT on all the time
good for when over taking, just drop it to 2nd and have it sitting there nd when u hit the acclerator, BAM, ur off (wish i could feel that in a 350, haha)

also helps with engine braking cuz the brake dust from my pads are just insane

As you note- it's a gear limiter, not a shifter... so your method is actually causing significantly slower/delayed shifting rather than just letting the (much faster) computer handle things on its own.

The TSIB pads solve the dust, and are a lot cheaper than a new transmission.

I drive in s mode all the time now, its a pita to down shift without jerking. Very hard to blip the gas during shifts because the throttle is on a delay or something, the only time I can rev match okay is under braking from high speeds and the car tends to go into neutral by itself so I can rev match 5-4 or 4-3 nicely.

Botched shifts feels painful for the car because it jerks so bad The only plus side to s mode is holding my gears going into highways or during lane changes where I need instant power.

i only drive in sport mode to engine brake. but other i don't use it. If you stomp on the gas the car will hold its revs and it downshift for you too when you need to pass a car.
