the new light is still fresnel len, but is newer, therefore it look clearer than the old one you have on, but still fresnel to me? all lens are different, it all depend on how they clear coat them, some seem to be clearer than the other ( like my car is 07 and my friend car is 06, when I put d4s 8000k in my headlights, and they give out blue output, but when I put in my friend 06, it turn out pure white light 6000k) that weird, but I can conform you that from 06-08 they use fresnel lens, from 09-10 they are frosted lens (semi-clear) even those yesterday I went to the dealer and check on the 2011 model, the lens are STILL FROSTED lens, NOT CLEAR at all, just like the 2010 lens. Like I said it all depend on how they clear coat the lens, some turn out clear and some not ( like I have 6 lens came off from 06-08 RX350, but I found out two of them are very clear and the other 4 semi clear, they even clearer than the 2011 IS new lens that I saw yesterday. EVERY LENS not the same.
