Yo, Im 21 yrs old, and I have the same problem. Just blew my ML sub... it's an 8 inch I believe. But ya, Ima put a 12" JL Audio sub in the trunk, and rip out the ML sub so it can port from the trunk to the inside.

I tried to replace the ML sub with even the thinner freeair subs out there and there is nothing aftermarket that will fit in its position. You have to either replace it with OE ML sub or just go buy and 10 or 12 and throw it in the trunk.Thats what i did but i opted to leave my ML sub in there and not using it as a port and my JL still hits hard.

the stock sub is only 2 inch deep. there is nothing out on the market that will fit in that space. in addition the stock amp provides very little power (i think around 25 watts). if you put any aftermarket sub in, your going to need a new amp or your sub is going to bottom out
