Those are painted or vinyl wrapped matte black not plasti dip'd.
Now I did some research on the plasti dip and it seems people are really interested in the clear finish. Yes it's available but it's not perfectly clear NOR is it glossy. It's flat. Here's a pic of it with the left being without plasti dip and the right with.
Also you can view this video of a Lancer's front grilled being plasti dip'd in black but with the emblem in red.

And i don't know how long yet, or how well. But from other post earlier on, some where saying they have had it for a couple yrs with no problems yet. Im sure it will all be down to how well the prep and implementation went.

i'm SERIOUSLY considering spraying my grill surround!!
i've been looking around to get my grill surround painted! but in a glossy color tho.. but since plasti dip is so cheap and can peel off, i think i'll spray it first and if it looks good on my truffle mica, then i'm gonna save some money without the need of getting it painted outside!
i'm thinking not to take my grille out for this though.. i'll tape the grille to cover the holes so hopefully the plasti dip won't get into the hood
anyone spray the grille surround without removing the grille? how did you guys tape it so that the plasti dip doesn't go into the hood through the grille?
