I see no reason to remove engine covers or grill surround.
Make sure you don't put the masking tape too close to the chrome because I did that the first time and when it came time to peel it off I accidenly pulled all the platidip off.
Have an knife ready to cut any strands that start to lift off. Also when finished if you have any spots of chrome left what I did was sprayed a bunch of plastidip in a bowl and got a paintbrush and used it as touch up paint

I just used a 10mm socket with an extension. Also, for some reason the bolts weren't very tight to begin with - almost like they were hand tightened, so it wasn't that hard to loosen them.

Im getting the LX mode grille later this week so im thinking of getting the grille surround painted as well when i get the grille painted. I dont know
