just did this last night to my SC300 badges and they came out great follow the directions in the first post and you will be fine.

one thing i will ad though is make sure you clean the spray nozzle on the can as the plasti dip will start to harden around the nozzle and cause the spray to be off

Hey guys,

I tried this this weekend without success. My lexus emblems and IS250 turned out well, but the grill, and big L in the back we awful. Long story short, and dont ask me why, but I removed the big L to try and get it cleaner...then went I went to reapply some 3M double sided tape, it started to come off, the plastidip. I'm thinking what I should is just have them powdercoated...will this work? And also, what is the best way to get the emblems back on the car in a clean way? Please please please help out. Thanks!

How many layers of plastidip did u use? I put on 3 coatings and it stayed on there pretty well. I noticed that the less coatings you put the easier it is to come off. It also breaks away in pieces not as whole strips. You also have to wait 1hr before peeling away. Also I don't think you had to take off the emblem in the back, you can spray it on while it's still on the body and you should be all good. The grill however is somethn you may want to remove and spray separately. You can powder coat it if you want but that seems like more work and more $. The good thing about plastidip is that is inexpensive, easy, and reversible. Why don't you just try painting the emblem again.

You cannot powdercoat plastic, it will melt when they put it in the oven. Use epoxy to reapply the badging. Be aware once the mixture is made it cure very quickly.

you guys have any idea how to quickly remove plastidip? I sprayed the front grill and the chrome was obviously easy to pull but the slotted one is harder...any ideas?

Did you spray your vertical grills? Or did you mask it off? If you sprayed it I imagine that it would be hard to take it off cuz of the lack of space. Next best thing is to wait till it dries then rub off with your fingers.

I took the whole grill off and sprayed both pieces separately. The chrome part has been fine, it's off no problem, if the slotted grill that is tough. I will experiment. If you guys have any ideas let me know though.

Wait I dont get it. Why did you spray both pieces and now your taking out the plastidip? Did you not like the result and you're trying to put it back to stock?
