was wondering if anyone use clearcoat on top of the plastidip? i just did my license plate and wondering if that will help protect it from scratches since it's seem to be very very prone to scratches!

So thats was super failure lol. Donno what I did wrong but every time I took off the tape the paint would come with the tape. Tried it 3 times. Even took it all off and then tried it again...

Also whats a good way to clean off the over spray on the body?

Hmm...maybe goo gone?

You may have to slice the edge part of the tape with a razor. It take alot of patience since that chrome piece with curve have little to grab on to.Plastidip will rip right off.

I had a hard time with the L emblem...

You gotta use a sharp blade and carefully trim along the edges then slowly peel off.

BTW....I completely forgot to tell the dealership to not wash my car and guess what...my freshly plasti dipped wheels got chipped up a bit from their wash! Grrr!

So, do not let the dealership wash your car. I always tell them to not wash my car but I dont know how forgot this time. Now, I need to re touch up the chips...any ideas?

You have to make sure they log it onto the work order in capital letters.

i use a toothpick and go right in the center to try and get under it. once i pull a little up, i try to get the plastidip to wrap around the toothpick by spinning it. if done right it catches and pulls on the plastidip from all directions. you have to be careful tho. if you get carried away it will lift them off the emblems as well.

yea thats exactly what i tried and it started wripping off the emblems, and i ended up removing the plastidip. its super hard removing it i between the emblems now cause some is caught in between the lettering and the car. i might need to debadge to get it cleaned up back there. anyone find a diy for emblem removal on the 09's? not sure if the year matters. i remember seeing on a 06-08, that there was screws behind the lexus emblem.

i wouldn't debadge. just try again, and be careful around the letters.
