Should not be hard, I've done everything in 1 try. It's like spray painting, you gotta keep a good 1.5 foot distance between the can and the emblems. You can try sanding down the emblems a bit too if ya want, that might help
1st coat is super thin, should look like little dots on it
2nd coat is a full coat and covers all of it
3rd coat same
That's about it. Let it dry for like an hour just to be sure

Wow haven't been on this page in awhile haha.
1. What are you trying to accomplish with Plasti Dipping your headlights? It will make them pitch black and not work, so I don't recommend it.
2. I also plasti dipped my roof, did not come out so well. Does not work well for large surface areas
3. Yes you can do it on your engine cover, it does not get that hot
