Did mine also, 3-4 coats, 20min to dry, think it came out great. Probably one of the easiest DIY things you can do to your car.

That actually looks really good. I was thinking of black chrome emblems for my 3IS, but i just might go with the clear plasti dip instead. I do like brushed aluminium.

Or perhaps smoke + glossifier? That should make a dark chrome look.

Default Another DIY Fully Blacked Out....

This is my first post here at ClubLexus. I just recently purchased my 11 IS250. It replaced my 93 E36 Mis. So here goes nothing... Here are some pics of the process. If I can give any advice take your time and do not rush it. Once you are done and are about to peel take a very very sharp razor blade and trace around piece it will make it a breeze to end up with something that you will be proud of!!!

What bothers me about plastidip is the texture. I did my emblems with a paint tint (tamiya) and gloss. Not as easily reversible but much better results IMO...

This is dope! I have a smokey Granite Mica that I think would look nice with tints and matte black emblems, thanks for sharing! Will have to try this out!

I did mine today and added two coats of silver metalizer over the matte black. Wanted to do something different than the plain matte black everyone seams to be doing. It made a huge difference and looks great with the SFP!
