Almost messed up my car with jack stands...Question for you guys.

My bad, that was me who posted about using the control arms. I figured since they are designed to hold the weight of the car it made sense, but yes, it's a little unstable putting Y jacks in that location. Like many posting here, I didn't want to screw up those tabs. Something I did differently was removing the stands each side at a time instead of front then back.

I've been putting cars on the tabs for years and only had an issue one time when a tab folded over. It bent back straight and never had another issue.
It's pretty clear from the manual Lexus wants you to lift the car from either the floor pan seams where the tabs are, or the rear differential and center of the front subframe.
Holding it up is another story. There are lots of places you can use, but none are as vertically strong as the jack points. They have a triple metal seam so they're pretty strong unless you side load them. I don't, so I don't have any issues with them.
