Default Almost messed up my car with jack stands...Question for you guys.

Question is where the F#%& do the jack stands GO? My dilemma yesterday was trying to jack up the whole car to paint all four calipers at the same time. Anyway I tried to place jack stands on the four corners like normal cars but there are those stupid tabs (used for the lexus jack) that bend immediately with any pressure. So I did a search here and read that some one put the jack stands at the control arms. At first I was like this is a genius plan and it actually worked at first. But it was when I used the hydraulic jack stand to release the jacks stands and lower the car where sh#t hit the fan. I jacked the front first and removed the front stands no problems but it was when I was lowering the car, the stands in the back control arms started to slip and made a horrid noise, scraaaapppeeee all the noises that would make you drop a dreuce. Anyway everything turned out fine, I had to use my Lexus jack to assist the lowering and I was left with a few scratches on the control arm.

Here are some pictures just because I know threads area useless with no pix.

^^^hey your're Chinese too. I knew a frat bro from New York named Trix. Wondering if you are the same dude, haha. Anyway, mine are smaller because I was going for the straight decal look. You should see how small my rear stickers are.

I always thought that the stands should support the frame.

You have to put the jack stands under the tabs. Keep in mind that only the tab is strong enough. Anything beyond it on the frame rail will bend. So keep the stand in that 2 inch space.

This is how I do it too. Use the floor jack on the pinch welds (or tabs) to lift the car up and use jack stands on the frame rail.

For as much as use a floor jack to lift the car, non of my tabs are bent.

jack the car up and look under. you'll see spots where its flat along the pinch weld, thats where you place your jack. also you should always keep the floor jack jacked up applying a little pressure to the car, this way if the jack stand fails, you have a fall back so you dont crush yourself.
