Honestly, my 07 250AWD is my first and probably last Lexus. Way too many recalls/issues. I think it is obvious that Toyota took their eye off the quality ball in order to grow rapidly. I sold my 1996 Acura 3.2TL after 13.5 years and 163k miles, it was a much better car in terms of design and build quality. No squeeks or rattles after 13.5 years. I will most likely go back to Honda/Acura products when my extended warranty is up (and Acura fixes the horrendous styling on the current TL).

I would agree on the impact of Toyota trying to grow too rapidly. Can't argue with that. I will say, for what it's worth, that the TL (1st Gen) you gave up is probably the last TL that was not a rattle box (though I don't know much about the current, 4th Gen model). That was the old, solidly-built, Vigor. Things went downhill fast starting in 1999 with the 2nd Gen. And I am not even talking about the automatic transmission failures that began in 2000...

Just saying... Acura is not the panacea... I used to be a Honda guy, and every Accord I owned rattled a bit, but the rattles were tolerable, and the quality, overall was good. My Acura TL, on the other hand, was pathetic, and so was the service experience that came with it.

That's what pushed me to Lexus in 2004. Lexus is not perfect, but IMO the difference is like night and day. The GX was rock solid, the GS had its issues that the dealership immediately addressed to my satisfaction (very much unlike Acura), and the LX has been good so far (hope I'm not jinxing it!).

How about using Techron Concentrate Plus with every tank of Gas?
