The top mounts will hold the mirror in place, so by adding more force to it, it will crack. But if you pull it at the bottom of the mirror, which is the right methode to do, the mirror will pop out of the clips at the bottom and you will be able to get the mirror out. The clips requires less force to pop out compared to the force of cracking the mirror.

Just unscrew the 2 outer screws, jiggle the lower housing little bit, then the light will drop down and u will be able to swap the LED. There's no way you can break anything this way.

I see them now but the oem are terrible. Time to get some new ones. Is there a way for them to come one when you are close to the car with the fob? My wife has a new gx460 and lights turn on when you walk by it.

It might just be me/my car but I think they only turn on when the car is locked or at least that was my impression when I tested it after I installed my LEDs.
