Sorry to hear that Mike. I hope the landlord at least pay for the inspection fee or some sort when you take your car to bullock or the dealership.

Can you drive the car or it needs to be tow?

I can move the car and drive it, but I don't want to especially all those lights are on, someone told me it mustve bite the abs cable which triggers all lights.

I haven't looked, However since it's thanksgiving Monday here and no one is around until tomorrow, to keep those guys away I bought about 4 packs of moth ***** and placed them all around my car and set a pack right on the nest, hopefully it will keep them away for now

Looking at your thread, I should go check out my engine bay as well. A few months back, I did my oil change and cleaned my air filter. However, there was a bunch of insulation stuff around the intake area. I thought that it was weird and i just pulled everything out and threw it away. It looked the same as the stuff that's in your pictures.

I'll have to make sure nothing else is/was damaged.

I feel ya, bro!

Rats living in your car? That's disgusting.

WOW.

Though that's definitely upsetting and I'd probably resort to saying angry barbaric things like "Me SMASH!!" to vent...i have to say it's pretty amazing that the rat(s) dragged ALL that insulation into your engine bay in ONE night.

I certainly hope your landlord takes some responsibility for rodent damage that could have been prevented. Much luck to you, and don't forget to let us know what happens.

Unfortunately, this is a very common problem with all types of cars. First time I heard of it was in an automotive class. And the rats do chew through wires for whatever reason. Wire coating must be tasty or they dull their teeth on the wires.

Hopefully this is not the case with your IS...but with the indicator lights on, sounds like it did chew through some wires. Sorry man!

yep, i'm pretty sure the abs wire is chewed, as I believe that triggers all other lights.

going to talk to them today, when I first spoke with them on Saturday, they said I should go thru my insurance. I have a deductiable of 500, plus I think my premium will go up after. If it doesn't, it will be less of a problem, if it does it'll be interesting in how this will turn out

check the padding around your right and left front wheels, i think the rats probably took some of the padding from that too
